| During
my first months as President, I have come to know the Kiwanis world much more deeply than
I had anticipated. I am proud to be a Kiwanian. I am proud of our mission, our programs,
our members and youth. I am proud to serve as the President of our Club and look forward
to charting a course with members that is memorable and adds value to the community and in
each of our lives. It will be a true pleasure to extend these same opportunities to new members of our Club, as we continue to extend the gift of membership to individuals in our community. By joining Kiwanis, members confirm their investment in our community and their desire to improve the lives of children and families on the Palouse. It is our responsibility as a Club to respond to their request to serve and be served... now and in the future. I am excited to continue celebrating the traditions of our Club, upholding the foundation on which so many wonderful community services have been provided, while challenging our members to remain relevant, engaged, and active in facing the current needs and changing face of the Pullman community. Kiwanis International and our PNW Governor, Wendy Falkowski, have invited us to consider "Kiwanis Next." This initiative challenges clubs, and each member, to reflect on new ways to serve, recruit, give back, and support communities. I am inspired by the opportunities ahead for our Club, especially our new members who will enhance our ability to impact youth and families in Pullman. I am proud to be a Kiwanian! I hope you are as well and will consider inviting someone to share in the friendship, service, leadership, and joy of being a member of the Kiwanis Club of Pullman. Kiwanis Next begins NOW! ~ From Sarah Hanks,
