Stuff the Bus
helps local kids succeed, Pullman teacher says
By Debra McNeil, Pullman High School
Thank you, Kiwanis, for rounding up the
generosity of our businesses and community members. Your support of
our students and families is immeasurable.
School employees
always carry money to help with a lunch, a pair of shoes, a new
shirt and, up until this past year, supplies for our most needy high
school students.
We know how important the simplest of school
supplies are to our students. You have helped fill in the holes and
level the playing field for our kids who need that extra support at
this time. These supplies help our kids fully receive the education
they deserve and desire.
But here is the best part. When I
hand out supplies I tell the students that these supplies are from
Kiwanis Stuff the Bus and our community.
They (our community) want you to be the best you can be and
succeed. This is the
best part of my job.
Students are grateful and in turn they
give back to others in whatever ways they can.
This is what learning is all about. By supporting our
students, you are helping build future community members who will
remember the support and in turn be exceptional members of the real
world.
We thank you from every student and parent in need.
